FAQs

  1. What is the difference between regular coconut oil and VCO?
Not all coconut oil is the same. Regular coconut oil is made from dried coconut kernel (copra) by the process of chemical refining, bleaching and deodorizing (RBD method). It has neutral scent and flavor. VCO is extracted from fresh kernel by mechanical process and has pure coconut scent and flavor.

  1. What is centrifugal extracted coconut oil?
Centrifugal extraction process helps to prevent contamination or deterioration of coconut oil while retaining its freshness. It provides the following characteristics:
Retains all beneficial health properties of coconut - preserved MCTs, phytonutrients
Pure scent and flavor - VCO tastes and smells like fresh coconut

  1. Why is coconut oil high in saturated fat?
Although coconut oil has 90% saturated fat, approximately 65% of it is medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs), mainly lauric acid (C-12) and caprylic acid (C-8).

  1. Can I take my coconut oil if it is solidified?
Like butter, coconut oil can be consumed in both forms - liquid and solid. It does not need to be liquefied prior to usage. There is no difference in nutritional contents.

  1. Is coconut oil stable for heating at high temperature?
Coconut oil is very stable for cooking because it can withstand high temperatures and is highly resistant to rancidity.
